Battlefield near Paipa.

This little farming area is the area that one of the battles was fought for the independence of Colombia. The turning point for the Colombians was when 14 men on their horses road bareback and succesfully stopped the Spaniards. The lanceros were nearly naked and the Spaniards had their heavy wool uniforms. When the rains came, the Spaniard's wet uniforms made it hard for them to move quickly.
