Friends in Baranca.

This cat and bird were relaxing at the airport in Baranca. The cat seemed plenty fat. Maybe he has had some good dinners.

July 20 in Barancabermeja.

We attended a district fiesta in honor of Colombia's independence. We had good food, games and lots of good company.

Who has the best moves?

This might be the only time we will celebrate Colombia's independence in Baranca while dancing a Colomblian dance. It was hard to know who could dance the best.

A Colombian tomale.

This is a Colombian tomale. It is made of cornmeal, rice. chicken with the bone and some spices. It was steamed while wrapped in a banana leaf. It was really tasty.

Our Mission Jewels.

After eighteen months in the mission, Elder and Sister Shipp are returning home. They have been so delightful, we will all miss them.

A special Birthday dinner for the president.

The zone leaders celebrated the President's birthday with a special dinner. It will be hard to wait for one more year to pass before we can celebrate again. Thanks Elders.

Now these are candles.

This is the first time to celebrate with such elaborate candles. Birthdays in the states will never be the same.

Cutting the cake.

The ice cream cake was delicious. Cake always taste better when your wearing a pink apron with little hearts on the front.

After a busy day at work.

The majority of the people in Bogota do not have cars and ride the public transportation home after a long day of work. Here hundreds of people are waiting in line to get on the Transmilenio (a large red bus ) to go home.

What no parking sign?

This is a daily occurance in Bogota to see a taxi parked right by a NO PARKING SIGN. Taxi drivers must be blind or think they have special privileges.
