Selling gas in Cucuta.

Cucuta is situated right on the border of Colombia and Venezuela. Gas is very cheap in Venezuela, so the locals cross over the border and buy the gas and take it back to Colombia and sell it along the street. We have been told that gas in Venezuela can sell for twenty five cents a gallon. Water on the other hand is very expensive there. It is much cheaper to buy a gallon of water than a gallon of gas.

Everyone with a smile.

These missionaries are from the Bucaramanga zone. They were smiling before they had their competition shown below. They are happy because Bucaramanga is such a great place to do missionary work.

Never a dull moment.

Some people think broom sticks are used for sweeping the floor. These Elders are full of energy and creativeness. Luckily the stick did not break.

On strike.

This was a typical scene last week. All the bus drivers were on strike in Bogota, so people were riding in the back of trucks to get to their destinations.

Baranca is our hottest location.

Wow, these missionaries work in Baranca. It is very hot ALL THE TIME. We thought Puerto Rico was hot in the summer time, but here it is hot all year round.

Out for a joy ride.

One day while returning to our hotel from finishing a zone conference, we heard a noise in our taxi. We asked the taxi driver if there was an animal in his trunk, and he said,"Si, pollo." We asked if we could take a photo, and guess what? He had six chickens in his trunk.

Just clucking away.

This was just one of the six chickens that was clucking away in the trunk of the taxi.

How to cook a hard boiled egg.

The church has a program to teach the Latin missionaries English. We taught them how to cook a hard boiled egg. They heard the lesson in English and then in Spanish and then in English again. Even the North Americans learned a few things.

A lesson in English.

After hearing my lesson in English a few times, some of the missionaries gave the lesson in English. What a blessing for them to learn English while on their mission.

Missionaries in Suba.

It is always a choice experience to be with our missionaries and to get to know them better. This is just part of the Suba zone.
