Leaving for their missions.

These two sharp girls are leaving for their missions. Sister Mayda Rangel from Barancabermeja is going to Chile, Concepcion South, and Sister Leidy Parra from Yopal is going to Peru, Lima East. These two beautiful girls will represent our mission very well.

They came and left and came again.

Sister Pacheco and Elder Andrade came to the missionary training center from Ecuador, but they had to return to get their visas and then they returned again. These are two dynamic missionaries.

Our April departures.

We said Good-bye to Elder Espinal, Elder Ramiriz, Elder Acosta, Elder Balboa, Elder Montero, and Elder Montenegro. Sitting is our Sister Armijo. We love them and will miss them.

What a good group of new missionaries.

We love the new missionaries. Here we have on the back row: Elder Ruiz from Nicaragua, Elder Velasquez from Costa Rica, Elder Gallegos from Nicaragua, Elder Sales from Utah, Elder Gillette from Arizona, and Elder Ludi from New Mexico. Sitting in front are Sister Peralta from Peru, and Sister Suarez from Argentina.

Our final "Good-bye".

We have enjoyed our two birds, but since we are nearing the end of our mission, we gave them to our emloyee Nidia. She has two cute little girls that will really enjoy them. We are missing their company and entertainment already.

The old capital of Grand Colombia.

On Easter Sunday, Tunja, a very old colonial pueblo, has many religious customs. Tunja in years past, was the capital of Grand Colombia. These men in white and red robes were leaving the Cathedral. We missed their processions of carrying al arge cross through the town.

What a grand entrance.

We were in Tunja for Easter Sunday. After church, we went down to the main plaza to see what they were doing for Easter. There was between 20-30 military men lining the entrance to the Cathedral. We didn't stay long enough to see who was going to enter or leave.

The candy cane church.

This church has its own style, and it is very beautiful. We spent an afternoon with two other missionary couples, the Hendersons' and the Collins'. Many people were there viewing the church as well during this week of Samana Santa or Holly Week right before Easter.

Inside the candy cane church.

This was the first time we have found this church open. We were delighted to see the beautiful interior of the church.

Now this fellow is colorful.

Near the center plaza of Bogota, we saw this man with evry color of the rainbow. He as hoping people would give him some money.

Elder Suarez returned.

Elder Suarez, one of our returned missionaries, has returned to Bogota to live with his wife. He married a young lady from Tunja. It was fun to visit with him.

Baby food again.

President Hacking had some tooth problems so he had to eat only food from the blender for two weeks. No fun!
