Our traveling sister.

Hermana Juarez is our traveling sister. She is from Argentina but has a Mexican name. Sister Juarez had been traveling around to work with the other sisters in our Mission because the Elders do not work with the sisters. Sister Juarez has been a great help to the sisters and to us.

Straight from the USA.

Elder Martinez is our newest missionary. He arrived in the mission with both English and Spanish. His parents are from El Salvador. We look forward to working with him.

Too many choices.

There are many different hats to chose from in Colombia. The people love their hats, and so do we.

Shapping the hat.

This man is shapping the hat for me. These hats are incredible the way they can be rolled up and packed in your suitcase. This hat is the standard hat for the hat of Boyaca.

A visit from President Nash and President Beck.

We had dinner at our house with our area president and his wife. President Nash (in the middle) was traveling with President Beck (on the left) and his wife. President Beck is the Young Men's General president of the church. It was a surprise. We found out accidentaly at 3:00 that they were having dinner at our house that night at 7:00. We scrambeled and had a delicious dinner, but they did not arrive here until 10:00 P.M.

Ready to return home.

Time to say good bye to Sister Huari. Sister Huari was one of our sisters that arrived knowing English. She was a help to the other sisters. We will miss her good work.

This is one of the many churches in the oldest part of Bogota. We find many of these here in the colonial part of the city.

This church was one of the most beautiful churches that I have seen here in Bogota. We found it one day just walking by.

Hot tub or cold tub?

This hot tub was in our hotel room in Yopal. The problem is there is no hot water in Yopal in any hotel. The water is cold. Maybe this is a cold tub.

Yopal is one of our hotter areas of the mission. Here are some of the members outside the chapel. They are going to be divided soon into two branches.

Dr. Weidmer and his wife joined us in Cucuta to do some health training. Sister Weidmer is often mistaken as me.

Those colonial arches.

Many old colonial buildings have these beautiful arches. This was a government building in the past, but is more of a museum now in Bogota.

A Gothic church in Bogota.

This is an interesting Catolic church in Bogota. I couldn't get the whole church in the photo. It was the first Gothic building in the area.

The Hotel Dan Carlton.

The Hotel Dan Carlton in Bucaramanga is one of our favorite hotels in our mission. They always have hugh beautiful bouquets of fresh flowers. It is easy to find beautifulo flowers in Colombia.

Met at the Salitre Stake Conference.

Sister Sulca on the left met this man and his family at the stake conference. He was the missionary that baptized her and her familly in Bolivia many years ago. It was a joyful surprise for both of them.

The new fruit for the new missionaries.

When the new missionaries arrive, we like to introduce them to some of our tasty new fruit that is very new for them. Colombia is full of beautiful flowers and wonderful fruits that we don't see in the USA.

They love their pastries.

Every Saturday and holidays, you can see women like these two selling home made pastries. The Colombians don't like their pastries as sweet as we do.

Our Colombian dentist.

This is our friendly Colombian dentist. She is a member of our church and always helps us with dental problems with our missionaries. She is often talking on her cell phone while she is working on our teeth. You can see the red cell phone. On one of my visits, I was in the chair for 4 1/2 hours. My back hates this chair.

The Suba Stake honors our missionaries.

Every year the stake president in the Suba stakes (he is the man in the white shirt) invites us and all the missionaries in his stake to a very tasty Christmas lunch. He gives all of us a Christmas gift.

Downtown Bogota, is a colorful part of the large city. We often see women in these beautiful dresses to entertain the tourists.
